Anti-Jigger Initiative

People living with jiggers (PLWJ) face extreme poverty, stigma, limited mobility, low self-esteem, and inability to engage in productive activities. Children affected by jiggers miss school and struggle with psychomotor development, while elderly individuals cannot participate in economic activities.

NYCBO's anti-jigger initiative provides:

  • Treatment and removal of jiggers
  • Disinfection and sanitation of households
  • Supportive counselling to affected families
  • Provision of shoes to prevent reinfestation

This program aims to restore dignity, health, and confidence among affected community members.

In response, the Noah Yeley CBO stepped in to offer her care, protection, and an opportunity for a safer and more stable future. .
